WHAT I KNOW ABOUT DOGS |
Most of what I know about dogs comes from my great granddad Ron
and my grandma Jack. |
Never try to touch or stroke a dog without first asking it's owner. |
Never feed a dog a tit-bit without first asking it's owner. |
From being a puppy, stop your dog greeting you by jumping up with
its front paws on your clothes. It may be wonderful when you are wearing
your scruffs and the dog's clean but the dog doesn't know when you
are wearing new clothes or he's dirty, so stop it right from the beginning. |
Don't let your dog think he's top-dog. Here's how to convince him
that you're top-dog... |
Get in the habit of feeding your dog after your main meal. Let him
see you eating, top-dogs always feed first, but don't let it beg at
the table. |
When feeding your dog, especially when it's a puppy, often take
its meal away, just for a few minutes, then give it back. |
When your dog is laid in your way, never stride over it, make it
move. |
